craft brewing

Craft brewing is a worldwide brewing tradition that was created in response to the worldwide market dominance of German light lagers and grew out of and incorporated many elements of English, American, Belgian and German brewing traditions.
Craft brewers incorporate most or all of several key features. Craft breweries 1) focus on quality and flavor as a means for attracting new consumers, 2) brew beers inspired by a variety of brewing traditions, 3) primarily brew for local or a single regional market, 4) are independent, privately owned companies, 5) are creative and innovative and add new beer types to markets rather than replicate them.
