Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast Decaf

for two reasons:
1.so if its DECAF then its a different beer
2.Served once at Lord Nelson Bar only
this will be the second time the shit has been served.

you might want to write papsoe or someone else with better knowledge of why these entries are separate.

yeah i see the "different recipe" changes in the discription, kinda like the recipe change in the shit.

i should have just stuck with my original comment.arguing this is pointless.most people in charge have not had it,so its not going in he database.

Gotta go with Odeed on this...I said it last time when this topic was brought up and I’ll say it again. It seems like those of you that don’t want it in the database have this otherworldly passion for keeping it out and have changed your minds, as noted in Odeed’s post, about why to keep it out. I’ve never had the beer and probably never will but I’m thoroughly jealous of those who have and would love to see some tasting notes on it...just my opinion.

What part of "It wasn’t commercially available" is so difficult for you and Odeed to understand?

Get your facts straight McPhee...anyone and everyone pretty much agreed that it WAS commercially available at the original release. What part of anyone that was present could purchase it by the glass or by growler don’t you understand? eye roll

We don’t allow alternative dry hopping for the reason that puzzl mentions, but we have always allowed beers in where there is a difference in the beer that is clearly marked by the brewer. This was kept out because it wasn’t commercially available. There’s no hate here, but there is a desire to maintain consistency.

Seriously...how do you contradict yourself in the same post? First you state that there was a "marked recipe change and the beer was made commercially available" then you state that "this was kept out because it wasn’t commercially available." How can we be consistent if you can’t even keep your post consistent?

Maybe I’m wrong here? Was it the Dark Lord one that changed?
Didn’t Speedway have some sort of recipe change about 2-3 years ago?

Single hop beers are one of the exceptions to the single ingredient change rule since it is such a major ingredient. I suspect that if someone made a single malt beer and then switched from 100% pale malt to 100% black patent malt, it would probably qualify as a new beer as well.

yeah maybe it was dark lord idk.
but for some reason when you add vanilla beans to a beer its a recipe change.

thumbs up

"Coffee is coffee" is sort of a narrow view. You could also say barley is barley and hops are hops or beer is beer, but all of this website would disagree on those counts. 11/4/2009 6:20:37 PM

#1 This site takes things too seriously- I don’t add every beer I have ever had on cask as a separate entry, maybe I should just to be a "shit."

#2 If the commercially available Shit isn’t in the DB, there are a bunch of other beers that should be deleted.

#3 Don’t mess with Jake.
