IMO Tun Tavern sucks. Firewaters is your best bet for a good beer bar. 10/31/2009 11:21:36 AM

Agreed, Firewaters is the only place to go in the city that is worth it...it is in the Tropicana which is probably where I had the most fun when I was in AC last time so win-win. Make sure you grab a huge sandwich from the White House the next day. Your AC trip will be complete! 11/2/2009 3:34:27 PM

guil0000 106:0 Thanks a bunch guys. One more question, my flight has been booked for 6 nights. Is there enough stuff for me to do in 7 days in Atlantic City. I play poker but I don’t plan on playing that much over there since I’m bringing my gf. Should I try and visit another close by city (I haven’t booked my Hotel rooms yet)?

Thanks again

Funny thing is everybody told me Tun Tavern sucked but the one time I was there it really wasn’t that bad. Not great but I had a few nice session beer and also a few very bland ones. Maybe I was lucky, but I’d say give it a try. The Double Tun Burger is quite a burger, you’ll get your weekly calories you need in a single meal.

As for Firewaters I went late afternoon and went back late at night. Both time the crowd was the most pathetic bunch of people I had ever seen. A fantastic bunch of casino leftovers, I thought it was great just to do people watching there. A "different" beer bar for sure. But after one hour or two you’ll want to get out of there. They do have a very good selection but I think they have too many for their bud-light drinking customers. When I was there most people didn’t drink micros. Not enough rotation. A few of the beer I had there were in less than stellar shape.

And to answer your "Is there enough stuff for me to do in 7 days in Atlantic City?". Well, especially since you aer out of season for the beach I’d say that one or two days is more than enough to visit Atlantic City.

Yeah, 7 days in Atlantic City not during the summer is going to be a little tough. I am sure you could find shows at the different casinos for some of the nights. There is a lot of places to go shopping if you like that.

You could probably find bus lines that are easy enough to hop on, also there is the trains which you might have to switch at a couple places but are direct enough. Good luckthumbs up There are lots of good beer stores in NJ. Hope your able to find some stuff to hold ontocheers!
