am wanting to do a small beer and chocolate tasting at my store and would love some information. I am just using the Green and Black bars we carry at the store. I really need help with styles to pair with milk chocolate and white chocolate. Any other help would be great also. Especially if you are familar with the chocolate.
Thanks

Bigsilky 322:4 These are usually the tough ones. The white chocolate, which is really just cocoa butter without the nibs, doesn’t play well with beer in bar form. Your best bet is to try a sweeter Imperial White Ale. These usually have the malt sweetness to cope with the sweetness of the chocolate and the tang of wheat malt to help cut through some of the "fat."

Milk chocolate? In bar form? No hops, something light and malty, perhaps a dubbel or an amber ale?

Good luck!!!

Bigsilky 322:4 Oh yes, and don’t rule out sweeter lambics, or fruit beers with milk chocolate. Lindeman’s Framboise and milk chocolate may earn you some jeers from the geeks and foodies, but I assure you that the sensible females in the room will not oppose. 10/27/2009 5:51:32 PM

Some kind of barrel aged, not sour golden ale with the white chocolate? Allagash Curieux? Or maybe a cider- Dupont Reserve could work, also. 10/27/2009 6:02:36 PM

White chocolate is the palate cleanser that follows a hop bomb. 10/27/2009 7:06:45 PM
