I’m pretty sure we can arrange to get a keg of this as long as they brew it again this year

There was a beer on cask brewed with PB & J at Cask Days in Toronto this past weekend and it was pretty good!

Jeff, if you have any influence up there, tell them NOT to back off with the peanuts. I know they thought they put too much in last year, but I think they got it just right.

I don’t mean to thread jack, so if this is too off topic, just skip me and move on. Anyone ever have the almond butter or cashew butter? At my office, I’m thought of a complete goof when I eat pb&j, everyone cringes. They look at me as if I’m eating a tub of grubs or maggots (and no, I’m not a messy eaater). But I’d be with the ’in’ crowd if I ate the almond or cashew butter. The problem is that stuff is about 300% higher in price for a 6-8 oz.jar (I don’t think it’s worth that much). What are your thoughts on this new kind of ’butter’?

I’ll be up there this weekend and I’ll try and talk to Joe and Jon if they’re around. If not, I’ll see Joe at a local beer event next Tues and I’ll be sure to ask. I know they have some other crazy beers in the works

Call them hippies and laugh at the poor choices they are making.

Could be from the peanut butter recall that happened last year due to salmonella, or maybe they are overly conscious about what they eat. Almonds are a better nut choice as far as type of fat that is present. Much higher in Monounsaturated fats then peanuts and high in omega 3 fatty acids as well, which are essential fatty acids.

I like cashew butter, almond butter is o.k., hazelnut butter is freaking awesome. For me none of them have the lasting appeal of good peanut butter though, add that to the fact that they are really expensive and they become not so attractive. Nice to have around for the occasional snack, but not something that I would eat every day for lunch. I’ll have to investigate (maybe try making my own?) "Pranut Butter" though, this could be the most delicious spelling mistake ever.
