was just in the local German drink market, and they just got Corona Extra - it was "on sale" for 34 euro ($52)!!! OVER $2 a bottle?? I thought it was bad enough that the US military stores sell it for $24 a case. I can get a case of Andechser doppelbock in the same store for 18 euro (most other cases are around 12-14 euro). The only positive thing was that no one seemed to be buying it. Anybody have anything more criminal than this (besides ebay sales)?

Okay - also besides clubs and at major league sporting events? (or even minor league since Augusta GA single A baseball charged $5 for a beer - but at least they were 16 oz). 5/16/2008 4:09:28 PM

Titty bars. Bad beer, high prices, cover charges, and it’s not unheard of to have a certain # drink minimum. At least I get to see em fully nude, which certainly isn’t the case at a high percentage of them

Portland has fully nude bars with great local beer, good prices and no cover charge. Free chips and salsa at some of them too.

I think beer rip-offs are such a rip off. Do you?

Avoid Oktoberfest München if you don’t enjoy having a lot of crazy silly fun while being shamelessly exploited for mediocre German beer. What a crass exercise in partying and jumping on tables, oh my!!

But - German women can be very warm & amazing creatures.

Rogue IS. 18.99 a bottle and not impressive. I am so glad I spend my money on black ceramic swing top bottles that end up in my trash chute anyways. 5/16/2008 7:20:49 PM

I saw someone selling 12oz glasses of bud light for .99 cents - talk about a rip off. 5/16/2008 7:26:28 PM

Probably my favorite post of the year.

Beer rip-offs for me include ceramic Rogues, most Eggenberg, Augustinerbrau Edelstoff.

Sorry I couldn’t come up with a better topic - maybe you could go the the "What are you drinking tonight" threads?

I don’t buy beer at the PX because there is nothing there for me. I would rather spend 14.29 Euro on a case of Andechser Hefetrub. 5/17/2008 7:41:37 AM
