Beer & Whisky Pairing

Hi guys, i am a committee member for my school's Whisky society and beer society, and i was asked to organize a beer & whisky pairing session. I would prefer to make it interesting, so i would like to avoid a simple pairing of 'peaty beer with peated whisky' or 'sherry BA beer with sherry finished whisky'. I am located in scotland so acquiring whisky is not a problem.
One of the thing i am considering is gose with peated whisky, i think the sour savoury note of gose with smoky flavour would be smoked salmon like.

I was wondering if anyone did something similar, and would like to give some ideas?
If nothing else comes up,i will jsut do sherry BA beer with sherry finished whisky and etc :)
