  i,
I’ll be in the Czech Republic for a couple of days at the end of this month, specifically, to Pilzen and Prague.
Which beers do you think are "must-try’s" there, apart of cause from the usual suspects? ANd where to find them, preferably on tap?
Thanks, sound67

Drink as much unfiltered Pilsner Urquell as you can at Na Parkanu. It’s great.

Even though it is widely available, Pilsner Urquell is a must in Prague and its hometown of Pilsen. The best kept Urquell comes in Prague from these sources: U zlateho tygra (Husova lane), U hrocha (look in the places section), Malostranska pivnice and - highly recommended - U jelinku (Charvatova lane, not far from the Wenceslas Square).
If You are keen on dark and semi-dark lagers, You should not miss the Klašterni Pivovar Strahov (at the Strahov Monastery)!
Another excellent czech pale Lager comes from Kout. You’ll find these beers in Prague in the suburban pub "U slovanske lipy" (see: places) in the Žižkov quarter.

Bollocks to Plzeňský Prazdroj, it’s a pastiche of it’s former self and tastes industrial compared to proper Czech kvasnicove beer (but what do I know?)
In Praha, get to the city’s brewpubs but especially Richter and Dum (plus Klub for guest taps). The most essential visit is Zlý časy which now has 16 taps with loads of micro beers you’ll not see anywhere else.
In Plzen, Purkmistr is pretty decent if a trek out, but Pivovar Groll’s 11° wiped the floor everything else we had... but there’s so much to do in both you won’t go thirsty!
Some light reading here...

Zly Časy is a great pub with a big selection of micros, that is true. But be careful, some of the micro-breweries are so small, that they have serious problems with infections (especially in summer).....

In Prague, get out of the centre, if you can. Hop on a tram and visit Richter, or the Kout pub in Ziskov.
In the city centre, Rudolfina is my favourite of the tank PU pubs.
In Pilzen, I was not too impressed by the PU in Na Parkanu.

With 16 beers on tap, you can always order another if one is not in top form. They have some hand picked bottles to take away, too.
I strongly recommend a visit.

Zly Casy is a great place, and Pivo Varsky Klub although a little more expensive has some great beers as well. I shared a few bottles of the Herolds Weizen and was very impressed 35czk at Pivo Varsky Klub and Zly Casy had it on tap when I went there last week. I really need to check out that place in Zizkov, that is where my dorm is and I have walked past it a couple of times...
