So, anyone care to comment on which is better... Old Rasputin or Black Chocolate Stout? And which one ages better?

Better? Completely subjective.
Ages better? BCS...pretty definitively.

I found that BCS did not improve with 1.5-2 yrs of aging - 3 bottles of less than impressive beer. Beyond that I dunno. Drink those suckers up.

I also like Old Raspy better and have totally stopped buying BCS. It’s not a price thing either (up here they both run over 4$ for a 12oz bottle). Both are massively overpriced in my market.

Overpriced? Maybe @ $4/bottle. But here, the sixers were about $8.50. For a 10%, well crafted imperial stout, I’d say that’s a pretty great deal.

Where on earth in NYC were you getting it for 12/sixer? Bierkraft? It’s been $10 or less here for a rather long time.

It was 10.99 a sixer at New Beer, 2 dollar singles, 11.99 at Whole Foods.

Very true.. Bottle King would sell six packs all day for $6.99 but now with the Brooklyn "Boutique" 4-pack presentation packaging you are getting 1/3 less beer for a buck more..Sure it’s a great product, but I hate to be hustled! Moving on.......

Here in Tampa, BBCS 4pks should be hitting consumers for $7.99-$8.99. I’m happy that Brooklyn moved the beer into 4pks… that’s about all I need for 1 sitting. I just make more trips to the store.
BTW, Monster BW will also be in 4pks upon its upcoming release.
