I see Phillips is releasing Black Toque again. I was looking for it in the database, but it doesn't seem to be there... why would that be ? Do retired beers eventually disappear ?

Retired beers don't disappear.
The one you mention apparently has been renamed at some point, so the reference to Black Toque is in the beer description:

They changed the name, remember?

Why they did that, is a mystery.

Agreed. Black Toque was a way better name.

But when they changed (I assume many years ago) Cascadian was getting traction and was a sexier name...
My first bottle, 2008, was probably already called with the new name
Makes me think how nowadays the name Cascadia/Cascadian seems to be forgotten.

These are the ones I got in the last years:
2017 - none
2016 - 2, Standard Cascadian Dark Ale (CDA); Brewers Row Batch 1 - Cascadian Dark Lager
2015 - 1, Mt. Hood Cascadian Pale Ale
2014 - 4
