The weather there is variable. I’ve been in Banff in January and experienced +5C, so freezing isn’t a guarantee, just a likelihood. You can ski there of course, but I’ve always found anything below -15 to be a little cold for skiing, even when seriously bundled up.
same here... if it’s too cold, skiing is miserable

Depends if there is a blizzard or not and no one else is on the highway. I guess you’ll have to wait and see that day.

that’s what I’m a little worried about

I’ve heard Calgary gets weird infusions of warm weather in the middle of the winter sometimes.
