´m still alive !!!
First thanks to all the response and advice when I first asked if anyone had any experince with adding cigar to a brew, I ended up with adding 1/4 of the cigar at end of boil (5min.), then had a sample when moving the beer from F1 to F2, the taste was fine, a hint of cigar in the background, but nothing in the aroma, so I added 1/4 of the cigar like dry hopping, and now when the beer is finish, there is some cigar in the aroma and taste, but more in the taste, not to much, quit nise acturly.
Some thought I would die from drinking this beer, but I had 33cl. and I´m fine.

Skål from over here cheers!

Very cool--fun to read the results of this! There are so many interesting experiments that people talk about trying...but then you never hear back about how they actually turn out. Glad it’s not been lethal too... 7/1/2008 10:36:52 AM

Nocotine isn’t toxic.

On a related note, I can’t wait to try the new brews from Cigar City Brewing in Tampa. Taste testers have given their beers a big-time thumbs up! I didn’t really see Joey Redner doing anything that wasn’t Top Hat! thumbs up

Don’t forget who to contact when the time comes to trade for those brews! evil grin

The LD50 for Nicotine is around .75mg/kg bodyweight. pretty lethal, but I don’t think enough was extracted per serving to kill you, but it is deadly in large enough doses... 7/1/2008 1:15:47 PM

1)I’m quite certain the OP does not know exactly how much he is extracting
2) Why on earth would you want to add nicotine to alcohol. Smoking it is bad enough. Extracting it into your beer is just moronic. Perhaps there will be a darwin award from this

We are kicking around the idea of smoking some malt with filtered cigar smoke, but we nixed the idea of using actual tobacco leaves right out of the gate because we didn’t think we could get commercial approval for it. Please tell me if it kills you. It will save us any research into it. 7/1/2008 3:27:40 PM

Your last two posts have been unnecessarily critical of the posters before you. As an exercise, see if you can formulate your comments without being an asshole in the process, and I’ll do the same.

Actually, I won’t. Abject stupidity needs as frank and harsh a response as possible. The harshness is warranted and necessary
