Getting into Amsterdam early Thursday Morning the 29th. Don’t know what I’ll be doing that day yet.
Staying at the Tulip the night of the festival.
Want to check out other dutch cities besides Amsterdam. Love Amsterdam, but have spent a lot of time there in the past. I think on Monday the 2nd I’ll head to Prague. Either renting a car or flying. Having difficulty finding a company that will allow me to rent a car in Amsterdam and drop it off in Prague.
Going to try to make the after-tasting (ha ha ha ha,) I’ll do my best to last. Will bring beers, but of course, space is limited a bit.
I run a beer store in the states here called Liquor Max.

Those attending the after-tasting and next-morning tasting should let me know what to bring.
Cheers!

That is cool that you are making the trip over for the festival. It should be a great time.
The beer list at your store looks great. Anything from New Belgium, including the kriek, would be great for an after tasting at the hotel. I am also staying at the Tulip Inn and will bring some beers for tasting after.
As for other Dutch cities to visit, I really like Utrecht because I used to live there but the downtown area has a great stretch of canals and bars and restaurants right on the canal. There are a few good beers bars as well. Delft is also a great city to visit and both are easily accessible by train from Bodegraven.
See you in a few weeks!

I would love to do the aftertasting, but there will be a lot of cleaning up to do afterwards, and after that it will be so late that I’ll find myself a place in the brewery to sleep.

Seen that the mashtun is already occupied, you’ll have to do with the gyletank.

I have also rented a room at the Tulip, along with two non-raters from Brussels and Germany.
As the festival closes at 22:00, it would be great to do some tastings afterwards. Is there anywhere in Bodegraven where we could do this? Shall I ask about the hours of the Hotel bar? Or perhaps there’s a pub near the Brewer that stays open longer we can decamp to?
I realise we are likely to be completely shattered by 22:00 (if not earlier) but if people are coming from afar with interesting beers (I hope to bring a Dark Lord) and we pace ourselves over the long stretch than it would be nice to do so tasting later in the night.
Looking forward to it all,
Martin

I’m so gutted I will miss this
Apart from great beers, there are great people that I would love to see (and some to see again ).
That s.o.b colleague of mine had to quit and I can’t take two days off
Hope you all have a great time
Cheers,
Alex
PS: If the festival decides to split in three locations, I’m offering my house, my office or my parents house

If you can arrange a room for aftertasting that will be great .. and since many of us stay @ Tulip ... a meeting room there or the bar there will be super ;O)
Cheers Jan
