i don’t know about East Coast states, but it’s sucking ass down here in Florida. i’ve been out of Torpedo for a month, and i can’t even "order" it. i gotta wait for my distributor (who is trying his damndest to get me some) to get more in-stock. it is a case/matter of Sierra Nevada is not brewing nearly enough (and they may simply not be capable of it at the moment) Torpedo to match demand, especially on the East Coast. as per norm, we are always the last in the distribution network to get good beers from the West Coast and so i am left having to regularly apologize to my large and growing number of beer afficianados as to why i STILL don’t have any Torpedo in stock.
i aint fucking around anymore. when it’s in, i’m getting 10 effing cases. i hate not having beer that my customers (and myself) want.

On the plus side, if you hadn’t bonused me a Torpedo in our last trade, I would have ignored it after the last three disappointing sierra nevada releasees and never realized the amazing deliciousness available at my local retailer (when the distributor extracts his head from his ass that is).

are you sure it was me who bonused you a torpedo in a trade? i have no recollection...but then again, my memory is rather selective.
speaking of SN, make sure to try the Kellerweiss. SN has finally released a g00d Hefe for my quaffing pleasure.

i am running onto same problem. for some reason the company that distributes SN... why the holdout?

I agree with you on the SN frustration. BTW my experience with Torpedo is due to it’s limited availability the more you buy the more the customers buy. I swear the day we got our last drop half was gone in a day. I’m not sure, but I think it was also 10 cases.

From SN’s point of view, if their tanks are filled with Pale Ale that they sell for the same price as Torpedo, what’s the point in making more Torpedo? Granted, they should not be promising it as a year round beer if they aren’t going to deliver on it, but SNPA probably costs them ~$30/bbl in ingredients, and Torpedo is at least $50...so what’s in it for them to make more of the stuff. Yes, they will put in more fermenters and conditioning tanks, but really, they are moving beer so fast, the bottom line HAS to come in to play heavily when it comes to what beers they will brew and how often.
Now this Kellerweiss...GOLDEN. Probably ~$20 or less/bbl. and the beer can be turned out faster than any of their other beers. I think this could be an enormous $$$ maker for them, and it is a damn fine product to boot.

The Kellerweiss is brewed in their open fermentors, so the volume can never match something like their regulars. And hopefully it doesn’t get in the way of the usual production capacity of Bigfoot.

i was finally able to get some more in last week; 10 cases to be exact. to avoid it disappearing in one day to 2 or 3 of my select customers who buy by the multiple case, i put a 2 case limit on it. i have 2.5 cases left, and i have little to no doubt they will be gone by the weekend.
and in other news, jjtaylor is out again :P
so long as they don’t drop the ball on the next Cigar City bottle releases, i’ll be happy
