Look at your Top 10 Rated Styles by number of rates
Now look at your Top 10 Rated Styles by average score given.

Is there any cross correlation?

For me IPA is 3rd most rated and 6th highest average score
APA is 4th most rated and 9th highest average score
Imperial Stout is 6th most rated and 5th highest average score.

So I should just drink APAs, IPAs and Imperial Stouts.

Either that or Boon need to start releasing 2 or 3 new Lambics every week.

I need to live on a diet of barleywines, but that would probably kill me !

There's pretty strong negative correlation in my top-rated styles and the most frequent styles. I love strong beer but usually drink sessionably.

The first style in my most-rated top ten is number 22 by highest rating (IPA). However, my third favourite style (imperial stout) is number 11 most rated (or 12 if you count cider) so that's something.

I think that the small number of some strong styles has artificially pushed the average up. There are beers I've very often sought out.

It's not that I don't like bitters/golds/milds, it's just that there are soooo many bad/average ones.

There's an availability problem (I love proper beer, but all that seems to come here is barely-describable-as-beer craft muck). And then there's the retarded RB splitting of single styles into half a dozen sub-styles that overlap way more than they are different from each other that screws with the tallies.

The only two that reside at the top of both lists are:
666 (6th) Impies at 3.35 (4th)
476 (7th) porters at 3.34 (5th)
(But in real terms, impies should be combined with 113 impy porters at 3.33, and porters should be comined with 48 foreign stouts at 3.33 and 443 stouts at 3.33, ...)

It's certainly about availability. I suspect if Imperials were more available near me, they would dominate. And equally I suspect the stout, porter dominance in my high scores would be challenged if I opted for Belgian or German bottles. I was gratified to see that I reward good bitter and mild, even if I drink too much indifferent blonde golden forgettables.

Being a UK pub goer my most rated beers are obviously Bitter and Golds. However my travels and bottle share adventures give my top rated beers more of an international and 'stronger beer' look.

I love sharing Imp's, Quads and Double Bocks, but I also love British pubs (but sometimes the beer isn't as interesting or good as those exotic heavies).

Normally drink my favourite styles weekly, IPAs, Imperial IPAs and Imperial Stouts, often a couple of IPAs or DIPAs followed by an impy to finish of a night. Almost 900 IPAs / DIPAs and 328 imperial stouts.
