This was one of the first crafts I tried and I loved it...and my palate was nowhere near the toughness its at now...but I havent had it since then...probably because there arent too many beers that are worth $10 a 12oz in my book.

120 is cute, it’s a gimick, but it’s kinda fun. It’s not worth it in the end, I think except as a fun shock thing for the uninitiated. I bought a bottle when I was first getting into beer, didn’t bother after that.
The trick here I think is the human tongue loses its ability to taste bitterness beyond a certain point, and so I’m guessing the sweetness of the malt overwhelms whatever bitterness you can taste.

Obviously, the more malt there is in a beer, the less bitterness is perceived. Simply because a beer does not taste bitter, does not mean that it doesn’t have a high IBU count. I’ve had some American Pale Ales that seemed more bitter than some IPA’s. When I looked up the IBU count, the IPA(s) had a higher IBU count...but they also had more malt added to bring a better balance to the beverage.
I really enjoyed DFH 120 Minute. It’s not a typical beer where you drink it down and go for another. It’s better served in a nice curved glass and sipped, imo. To each his own, but I think it’s a quality beer.

Not a fan. I only started really getting into trying a wide variety of beer this early this year. I learned quickly that I really like bitter hops and bought 2 bottles out of sheer excitement over its claims of hoppiness. There were two people I wanted to share a bottle with, and it didn’t even occur to me that I might not like it. Long story short, I got a syrupy sweet concoction instead of an IPA, and now I’m more cautious of what I buy multiple bottles of. Spending 20 bucks on two 12 ouncers of a beer I disliked was not fun.
That said, I can see how some people would like it if you approached it more as a barley wine. Still not worth the price, though.

I recommend drainpouring one at least yearly for clean and happy sewer lines.

120 on draft is pretty close to beer heaven for me. But I like my beers like my women, full bodied and sweet.

I have never had a bottle that I considered even vaguely non-hoppy compared to anything. They have all been very bitter and very sweet. I always kinda thought it created a sensation like drinking two things at once.

I enjoy 120 enough. But I had an interesting conversation with the head brewmaster at Anheuser-Busch last night (he was in Des Moines for whatever reason) and he told me that they ran lab tests on 120 and found it was like 13% abv and 40 ibus. It doesn’t change my opinion of 120, or Anheuser-Busch but I thought it was interesting enough.
