Estonians may have noticed even more very expensive beers appearing in some of the shops recently, at unprecedented prices, so it’s clearly time to start thinking about another tasting session where we can share the burdon of such scary prices. I have no idea exactly when the tasting will be, but I guess late summer or early autumn. I’ve started this thread so that anyone who’s interested in attending can suggest impossible dates, and also hopefully suggest beers that they will be able to contribute, so that unwanted duplication can be avoided. |
2nd half of september or thereabouts looks impossible for me. |
Put to one side for the tasting so far are: |
Currently I have these for the tasting: |
2 more puppies from pothouse (a notice to sourheads - they only have 2 bottles of each left): |
In the Estonian alko register there is new version of chimay blue oak aged with different barrels (more info at chimay’s website http://chimay.com/barriques ). They seem to be doing the same crazy thing as la trappe with their quads, where new batch=different barrels. So be on the look out for that one. You may let me know if you see it on sale in Tallinn, so I can buy it for the tasting. I have seen 2015 version only in SIP, hence it may not be easy to find. |
Oooh, thanks for that info, I’ll ask Kairi and Martin to keep an eye out for those. |
Got the other oaked aged Chimay Blue from Koht. It was "only" ~23€. |
I think we’re still missing some of the sours from there - at least 2 IIRC. |
Pothouse were down to their Intense Red (31e/750ml), and nobody’d shouted about getting it, so I picked it up. |
We should set the date for the tasting. |
