Got A Le Coq jõuluporter 2016 for tomorrow’s tasting. Update: got Saku pühadeporter 2016 also. I won’t bring Old Stock ale then, since I’m already bringing too much stuff. UJH is selling fresh Corsendok Dubbel, so if anyone wants you can bring it for comparision.

All I could find in the hoploft that was clearly for the OLD BEERS tasting was Marduk’s Meantime London Porter BB 2012 75cl, and the Chimay G.R. 2012 75. There’s of course a bunch of P6hjalas, but they’re being kept separate.
Random extra stuff lying around here does include an Ola Dubh, and Orvals of various ages, and even a 1-year-old Heller Urbock.
We’ll be 6 tomorrow, as there’s a Martin but no Guido. Size of bottles will of course be larger than typical. So I can’t really guess how much we’ll want or need. I realise I’ve not pulled out anything Fullers yet, which is an oversight...

Hello, everyone I would like to join You on 3rd of december and taste the overpriced beers. I can bring something from my personal collection or buy something overpriced from Koht or UJH. Depending what is missing from Your list of over priced beers. Cheers Rasmus
Can you bring one of the Eclipse versions and one of the Adam versions? Adam would be nice to compare with Otto, and Eclipse for me is the definition of overpriced beer - 0.65L bottle of BA impy that costs at least 45€ per bottle.

Martin sometimes comes with her gf, so there still may be 7 of us.
Anyways, I noticed that the Koht backroom is again usable, so maybe we should ask from Kairi, if we could do overpriced and/or Põhjala tasting there, so she could also join us? Doing overpriced tasting there would be nice way to continue the tradition (and we have 300+€ worth of beer to share)... And about Põhjala stuff - Kairi just may be interested in trying aged Põhjala beers. If she’s not interested, then there’s no reason to do it there.

Just spotted a very old La Trappe Bock - if you’ve not had that old, then it’s very highly recommended (see marduk’s and my reviews, we did a BB2010 in 2014, this is a similar age, alas small bottle). Having a young one to go with it to contrast would be good.

Looks like tomorrow will be macro "baltic porter" themed tasting. Guises my brain is stupid as fuck. And old. I don’t have Tõmmu Hiid. Instead there is A Le Coq Porter BB 2014 nov. I’ll go and try to grab non BB too. Valges I think will suit to expensive tasting. ’cause I wouldn’t pay even 5 cents for that taste if it wasn’t a tick.
|
And for the record I took a peek to my cellar and discovered (for future old tastings): Anchor Big Leaf (BB some 2015 numbers are worn out) De Molen Kopi Loewak (BB 24.01.2013) couple Meantime London Porters and 1 bottle of Meantime RIS and bottle of each Bacchus kriek and frambois (BB 2015 smth)

I’m also having a senior moment - my zywiec is actually an ococim (500ml). I suspect there’s a zywiec (330ml) in the other place. Looks like we’ve got some good verticals!
