Like marijuana prohibition.

DUNK!

I don’t see how it is like that at all.

Me neither, oysters can at least be directly contributed to a risk of death or illness.

Ah I get it. It helps the California oyster market.

Barbecued oysters are a local specialty and aren’t affected by the FDA decision. Third Street Brewing here in Santa Rosa is a fine stop for beer but even more so for the oysters.

When I was kid, I had this weird fascination with Canada. I think one day I will live there for good.

Have rad the article, as I am on my mobile, but are we sure this has nothing to do with the gross over-harvesting of oysters?

The Gulf is a very poorly cared for environment.

The State of Texas mas made the entire coast of Texas a state highway - even in places with endangered sea turtles that must cross the "highway" in order to survive. That means oil, garbage and more pollution for your oysters. Texas cattle and industry cause huge putrid die-offs in waterways that empty into the Gulf.

Shipping US garbage into Mexico has also resulted in Mexico paying us back. I’ve been in the Gulf watching baby diapers wash onto shore. Plenty of other junk comes with the soiled diapers. Mexico isn’t exactly EPA-compliant either.

Add oil spills, a lack of environmental awareness in all the countries around the Gulf and yeah, the oysters - which are the garbage eaters - are not going to be all that healthy.

The right answer. I mean, I like ’em, but not as much as pretty much any other, NE or NW.

To bring this to beer, I love raw oysters and beer, and I find a wide, wide variety of beers work well; there’s your lower alch, dryer stouts, IPAs are fine, hoppy lagers probably my fave...
