My real Goose Island gripe is why isn’t Juliet love in 12oz, and why isn’t it in Des Moines.... ok I guess I know the answer to that second question 11/3/2009 7:35:47 AM

I fucking hate bombers when it comes to barleywines and stouts. They work for tastings, but that’s about it.

I like to drink no more than 12 ounces of that type a beer in a sitting. If I can’t find it in a 4-pack, I am passing on it. I have way too many bombers sitting around that are probably going down hill. I don’t need any more.

I’m happy about the bomber. I generally don’t want to drink 12oz of BCS, it’s too rich and strong. So I usually will share it with a couple of guys, and 12 oz is too little to share between more than 2 people. So a bomber is perfect, 3-4 people can each get a good amount. 11/3/2009 8:11:50 AM

It will also look pretty in the cellar/at tastings. I’m a big fan of multiple choices when it comes to bottle size so I was glad when I saw the new Goose Island bombers, but I’m not so keen on the price of them.

I can offically confirm that Bourbon County Stout is in 12oz bottles. I saw one with mine own two eyes last evening.

No 2009 BCS spottings in Cincinnati/SW Ohio/Northern Kentucky yet (by me anyway- maybe some of the guys who frequent Belmont in Dayton or some of the suburban Cincy stores will see it first), but I have seen the Matilda, Pere Jacques, and Sofie in both 12 and 22 oz. formats in multiple stores. This is giving me high hopes on some near-future offerings from GI in this area. 11/6/2009 11:45:07 AM

They’re doing that in Des Moines next month. I’m freaking pumped. Goose Island treats us right here in bumblefuck, but I’ve heard rumors that that is just because Greg Hall’s wife is from Des Moines and when they come to town they hang out at my favorite local bar. I have no idea if it’s true at all though if I ever saw them there I would have no clue who they were, but we get some great selections from them from time to time.
