’m working on opening a brewery and having a very difficult time finding a graphic designer with both experiance in package design and that understands craft brewing (e.g dosen’t give us a bunch of icons/images that have alrady been used).
We have a friend who is an outstanding artist doing artwork for us, but he is just doing it at night for fun and isn’t a professional designer so he can’t really put everything together. Any help, advice or leads would be enormously helpful.
Cheers!

Randy Mosher?
He has done quite a bit of work for various breweries and he understands beer like nobodies business.

holy shit, i had no idea randy mosher was such a great designer (i got to hang out with him a bit at our local AHA rally last month), i thought he was "just" a beer writer. anyway, i don’t think i can match his stuff or his experience, but here’s my humble page, and i’m for hire as well:

His labels are quite nice, if not excellent, but man is that website one of the ugliest things I’ve ever seen in my life.

Indeed. His labels are okay, but that website is horrible, and makes it difficult to take him seriously as a designer. Really.

I use Matt Callahan of manmademurals.com. He can do inexpensive photoshop stuff or draw what you want from scratch. He isn’t a beer geek, but he understands the label submission process and he is affordable. Most important, to me, was the he could grasp the feel of what I wanted very quickly and turn it around quickly as well.

Try this guy info@pocotequila.com
He’s a Tequila guy and I would think he would be interested in doing beers. He’s an artist by trade and a very down to earth person. I think he would know how to create an intersting label.
