I agree with the OP, this is a tasty brew.

Maybe it was my bottle, but I love extremely bitter IPAs and didn’t care a lot for this. It was some overly sweet flavors up front that unbalanced it for me and put me off of its better aspects. I really liked Dogzilla, though. Maybe I should pick up Devil Dog to compare more.

I loves me some AlphaDog! But I still like the Devil Dog better (and the DogFather too).

I had this this weekend, a bit one-note and lacked depth.
The Devil Dog was a bit better IMO.
but then again, the Beer Valley 2009 Hop Harvest was far better than either.

Well, I am enjoying my first Devil Dog right now, and to me Aplha Dog kicks it’s ass. Devil Dog needs more hops, is closer to barleywine like so many IIPA’s are. Alpha Dog was all about the hops, like an IIPA should be, imho.

Ok, so i have dropped six homegrown Nugget hop cones into my glass of Devil Dog, and now it equals Alpha Dog..sort of cheating, but what the hell.

Considering how good their freaking Cream Ale is, I have no doubts they could do a dandy IIPA.

One of the better IIPA’s I have tried, it’s the best one I can buy without driving at least 40 miles away.

I found the CSB, Alpha Dog and the Dogzilla at a beer store in Boston and am really hoping we are able to get some others too. All three were tremendous!
