Just when things are going good, someone has to bring an 80s hair band into the conversation!

We took some Black Albert samples out of a bourbon barrel early September and bottled them of in magnums. Not ready for sale yet but to check out quality and towards the LCRBM08 meeting in Holland. Some Magnum bottles were opened too at the Alvinne Proefzolder lately.

Only 4 barrels are ready for bottling mid January 2009, we are talking about 800 liters of beer which is peanuts. Establishing an export program will not be possible due to its limited character. We think about selling those bottles at Deca, our webshop ahttp://www.struisebrouwers.be , and some other exquisite Belgian shops.

However, we were not able to decide yet, whether to bottle off in 33cl or 75cl, what would you do? Thank you for giving us some ideas... and Happy New year to you all. Cheers, Urbain

Well id personally rather see it bottled in 330mls
as that way there more to go round, and id rather have 5 x330s that i can open on 5 differemt days than 2 x750, and even if im sharing i just open multiple bottles. While i like 750s i find the flexability of 330s much more important in Rare beers.

Should the beer be on the site yet in that case?

33! With a beer that big, even a 12oz is good for sharing amongst 4-5 people. And with 12oz more bottles are made, which means (hopefully) more people get to own them.

+2 I’d rather see it in a 330ml. These days I seem to struggle more and more with the large bottles of Imperial Stouts, I’m not a huge fan of Impy Stouts anyway though I recognise the fact that I have enjoyed some very good ones along the way. I’d be far more tempted to pay that little extra in cost per volume and get a 330ml over a 750ml. I’m happy with Saisons, Lambics, IPA’s etc in a 750ml bottle but its hard work if you’re on your own with an Impy Stout.
