Question about retailer prices.

There is definitely scalping that goes on when a beer is "rare". For example, the recent Bells Oracle frenzy. The Bells store was selling cases for $66, so that’s basically suggested retail price. Cool stores sold the individual bottles for $3, so that’s $72 a case. However, I know of another store that sold their bottles for $5 each. That’s $120 a case. So he basically marked up his price double over the retail price, and was trying to make an extra $50 on a single case of beer. 10/29/2009 8:44:32 PM
