lrighty!

there was alot of chat about this in Plzen, but no takers as such so far. Id love to hold the event again down in London or in England somewhere, however realistically im not going to have the time in the next year or so to do such a thing. Some people were talking about germany(which i think would be awsome) and others back to Denmark(which is somewhere i want to visit also). Pat even mentioned Helsinki(but may have been pished and talking nonsence).

Any thoughts?

Albania? wink

Joking aside Germany would be great, what about Poland, would it be able to offer enough? Italy?, Denmark would be excellent. If its the UK, maybe Manchester or Sheffield would be better propositions than London?

Actually, that’d be quite interesting as it is terra incognita for all of us, with seemingly many brewpubs or breweries (if you ask beerme) popping up. The only problem would be that we don’t have anyone there and we probably aren’t going to get someone soon.

Some people have suggested Zagreb (jokingly or not), but that’d be a bad idea. Not all that much to see here. One "brewpub" with 5 beers, another with 3, one just outside Zagreb with 2. Three in the in the north but with 2/3, 2 and 1 beer. And 5 beers aren’t worth a trip that’d take a whole day, even if some of them are nice. And maaaaybe one just outside Zagreb but we’re not sure. Other than that, a great Belgian pub with around 100 beers, mostly common stuff.

So, not worth it unfortunately.

Surely Germany would have to be worth a serious consideration. Franconia somewhere?

I might even be able to make a special trip from Oz for that.

<-------------- Beautiful, innit?

Well, Denmark would be great, Germany as well... Finland would be fun as well...

In Denmark, I suppose some of the more Ratebeer focused breweries could brew some specials...

And this time... perhaps a 4-5 bottle limit for the grand tasting? better to bring 3 x 330 ml of one beer than 10 different ones in small bottles... (which we all did well this time around - but it could be better...)

Southern Germany or Austria would certainly rock. The only problem would be finding someone willing and capable of organizing that there. 7/11/2008 1:20:41 PM

Yes? wink

sorry, I’m in the wrong timezone and did not really have time to read the forums.

Munich is definitely a possibility, allthough it will be very hard to follow up on Pilsen.
The format would be similar though - the inner city places can be done on one day, for more points of interrest we would have to hit the countyside - I dont think combining with Franconia is much of an option though - its just out of convenient reach.
My biggest problem is lack of good contacts though - I honestly dont know enough brewers down here to do something sufficiently non-touristy....
