  AY TWO
1100 – We catch the bus and meet our driver for the day. I’m waiting to find out the exact location where we will catch the bus but it should be somewhere very central
1130 – U Rybacek brewery in Stribro. This place opened late last year. They should have 5-6 house beers. Lunch options will probably be chicken schnitzel or pork chops cooked in malt. We’ll have a quick 15 minute tour of the brewery.
1300 – Bus to Klatovy
1345 – Blind tasting in at Modry Abbe in Klatovy. This is a great place to spend a lazy afternoon and they should have 9 different beers on tap for us. The manager is passionate about small Czech breweries and should make it a very enjoyable stay
1700 – bus to Dobrany
1730 – Modra Hvezda brewery in Dobrany. If you read martin_t’s article, you should get pretty excited about this place. We have a booking there, the only nuisance is that no one was answering the phone today. Anyways we should have dinner there, a look around and 7 house beers
2000 – The arranged time for us to be dropped off in Pilsen.
Being such a large group, it is going to be very difficult for us all to be seated in the same pub. I imagine some people will be keen to visit U Rytire Lochoty, Pilsen’s other brewpub, and we can try to get the bus driver to drop people off there.
For everyone else, I suggest we split into smaller groups in the centre around Na Parkanu, Plachetnice (if anyone wants to try Krusovice beers, incl. Unfiltered) and Uncle Paya, which are all within a block of each other.
DAY THREE
1130 – Grand Tasting at Kalikovsky Mlyn. We’ll start tasting at 1200, but if people want to get there early and put their beers in the cool room and have a coffee, then it’s probably not a bad idea. We’ll eat in the restaurant area but will also have a large garden on the river that we can use. There’ll be plenty of food – schnitzel, goulash, pork knuckle and some stuff for vegetarians.
Assuming that we’re still going later, the Euro2008 final will be on a big screen for us.
I’ll do my best to get maps for everyone. Kalikovsky Mlyn is 10 minutes’ walk from the main square. All the places for day one are very central except for the brewery in Cernice.
Since I’ve already put deposits down and because most of the prices quoted are for a group, I suggest everyone pays me on the Thursday or Friday. I think around 2000 crowns will cover everything that’s booked as a group (Cernice, Vinarna Hrozen, bus hire, Stribro, Klatovy and the grand tasting venue). I’ll try to get an exact figure worked out by Thursday. I will be glad if we can pick up the cover charge for the grand tasting for a couple of people who have helped me a lot (the brewer at Urquell and the manager at Hrozen) and this will work out to 20 crowns each or so. Also, I think it would be the decent thing to do to buy lunch and dinner and a few lemonades for our bus driver on Saturday’s trip. If any money is left over then we can redistribute it on Sunday afternoon.
Anyways, see you all very soon. Please let me know if I’ve neglected to mention an important detail.

Thanks to the low ABV of Czech beers I have been able to rate all the places I visited by memory. But U Rybacek is missing.
Google gives me nothing, so Filip, could you please add it? I suppose you have all the info from the organizing.
