I could be wrong, but I’m thinking in the past they were sent to Oakes?

The MI proposal was sent to Oakes last night! When you see the proposal, just remember that the schedule is not set in stone and we will cater the events to what everyone on here prefers. We also have quite a few brewery commits for special kegs, tours, or both and we will be adding many more coming up! You will not be disappointed!
Cheers, Jeff

I really don’t think this will happen. The brewers here don’t seem to be as welcoming as the brewers across the country. It’s the reason we’ve lost two other proposals, and quite frankly, when you don’t have those "special" things to offer from the brewers it makes it hard to create a proposal.
Iron Hill is the one exception, but, they have already offered a RateBeer Brewer’s Reserve night, which would be a sampling of their beers, probably some of the rarer ones. I would have to re-ignite those talks though. It wouldn’t be a RBSG entire weekend thing, but that’s about all we can offer.

Orlando is a beer wasteland.

Let’s see this proposal already...where is it?

In terms of raw numbers, Orlando might not have that many spots, but we do have a beer bar and a bottle shop that are as good as any elsewhere. A quality gastopub serving only American crafts (in addition to wine and spirits) doesn’t hurt either. And the local RB crew here is at least as strong as any other. Between here and Tampa, we’ll put together a worthwhile trip for beer travelers from any part of the country. Recognize that shit.

Come to the RBWG in march, I guarantee your opinion will be different.

I put together the NY proposal and I also saw the MI proposal (good job by the way). It going to be a tough decision for whoever has the task of choosing. IMHO, if there is a vote, can we at least limit it to people that have actually traveled to attend RBSG in the past?
Either way, RBSG looks like it’s going to be great.

that is a good point. Maybe not just people who have traveled to previous events but at least not people who definitely wont be going. I know that is difficult to somehow separate these individuals but the voters should be viable future participants. I know RBSG SF only had a handful of folks from out of state.

I agree. The voting should be done by those who actually attend these events. If we were a bit more organized earlier, I’d suggest holding the voting for the next RBSG at the current RBSG.
