Right near the flatiron building too. Hmm.

I was the one that wrote a whole thing about how NYC is impossible, but if Mike says it can be done than it can be done. He knows his shit and has a ton of industry contacts; he’d definitely set us up a top notch weekend loaded with exclusive goodies.

Ok, so it’s not the big city feel, but how about michigan? We might not be as vocal on the message boards as some of the other cities locals, but there is plenty of good beer to be had and you could probably find pretty cheap accomodations and plane tickets. By that time there will be a Jolly Pumpkin Cafe in Ann Arbor and a brew pub at the brewery.

A nice trip across the state would yield Kuhnhenn, Slows BBQ, Ashleys bar in Ann Arbor, Jolly Pumpkin Cafe, Jolly Pumpkin Brewpub and brewery, Dark Horse, Arcadia, Bells, The Livery, New Holland, Founders and Hopcat (in Grand Rapids), just to name a few. There, convinced?

hit up joet or oakes for some info maybe. But basically a proposal of what you could do. This is rarely a one person job and you would want to talk to your local RBians about it as well.

Anyone doing a proposal should be in tight with all the brewers and places we’d visit (like christian and chris and rbsg 08)...I don’t want to end up being treated like just another group of retards on a tour like some of the bay area places treated us. This being said, mike can probably pull that off with a nyc gathering because mike is a resourceful lil’ bastard.

I’ll be happy to walk you through the ins and outs.

Matter of fact, I’ll be cruising around Michigan in about a week and half. Not sure where you are, but maybe we can discuss it over a beer.

In addition to the travel issue, there is the fact that there really isn’t an active RBian closer than 100 miles (sorry if I overlooked anyone). As I understand it, Summer Gatherings require a lot of hands on, face time kind of work and I’m not sure there’s anyone there to do it. Which is a shame, I think an Asheville would be an awesome venue.

NY, Philly, Orlando or Tampa would all be good, and its time for the National Ratebeer community to get a chance to enjoy Suttree.
