My problem with the free markets is that they are often treated as free-for-all markets; instead of some people being guided by a moral compass they act on the "it’s not illegal therefore it must be legal" principle, both here in the US and abroad. Another common philosophy in free-for-all economics is "do unto others before they do unto you, and be quick about it". It smacks of anarchy and chaos, and while that may be fine for celestial bodies going supernova it does not fare well for sentient beings who have some control over their destiny.
What I’m saying is that there are flaws in the system but not in the concept itself of free market economics.

Your way of thinking would have been true if 99% were to be USA activity but that is not the case.
If that market share would change & rapidly grow, this would mean we have a growing problem over there. At least I will be the first informed if such a problem would occur in the near future, and would be able to react or anticipate. Before I had no information what so ever.
We do not plan anything at all, we are in learning mode for three months now to check out where all the real problems are situated.
After evaluation, and if push comes to shovel, this project will officially be taken over by a European and/or Usa firm that would want to insure this activity, if not, this project will silently die.
I do not plan to fill up and pack parcels longer than 3 months, I have more important things to do, which is brewing beer.
And if by then our Usa online market would seem to have become more important, which is certainly not the case now, who says we were to ship from Belgium? We could easily work together with an affiliate and officially licensed Us bottle shop and ship from there...
If you look under our webshop announcement, you will find already various links of bottle shops. I am sure this list will grow in the near future...

Oh absolutely, granted. Every system, however fine has some flaws.
But to illustrate what I said: if I run a small brewery, over here in Belgium, and some cowboy comes over here, buys a crate of my beer, sends it over following all the rules to the USA, and then finds a guy to distribute it, he’s got immediately exclusive rights on importing this beer, indefinitely - even if afterwards, he never imports a single bottle again.
In the case that subsequently I find a real importer for my beer, and I want to export that same beer, I’ll have to invent a whole new name for it, etc. That’s Al Capone to me - and it certainly does not smack of free for all, but rather free for those who are the sharks in the system.
And I won’t start about the inter-state differences... whilst we are trying to create an internal real free market on the EU continent. With all the barbs and the hooks attached.
