’m going to Vegas for the weekend.

Here’s the catch...

I’m reading the reviews here on this website and it seems like Ellis Island is the type of place I’m looking for - super cheap food that isn’t nasty with at least one good beer. Atmosphere? Don’t care too much.

Any others like this? I’m sure there are a bunch not entered here because of the type of place I’m looking for isn’t required to be a beer heaven.

Go to the end of the strip and hit 4 Queens and Triple 7s (Freemont). Both are only a block from each other and have some pretty cheap beer and decent food. 10/28/2009 4:43:23 PM

Just stay away from the main strip if you are looking for cheap beer that is decent. The closer to old vegas, the better the prices.

Vegas main strip is generally:
Macro swill beer
Sam adams boston lager
Red hook - longhammer is bearable, but tough to find

If you are looking for at least one good beer, try NY NY pour 24 or the burger bar in madalay bay shops (best beer selection in vegas)

Food I cant help you with though, not to much I have seen that was cheap.

I agree 100% with the Burger Bar.
The Freakin Frog has an insane selection. (and they have a secret selection of scotch from when they had a scotch bar upstairs.

Cheap Good value food and beer? Agree with Main Street on the north end of the strip. If you go to Ellis Island they have a steak special that is not on the menu. Just ask the server for the special and you get a decent steak, potato, salad, bread and one of their beers for about $7. 10/28/2009 6:35:04 PM

Neither or those are cheap, nor do they have super cheap food which is what the OP asked for.

For $12, you can get 2 beers and a steak dinner at Ellis Island but get there early unless you want to wait for 2 hours. Main Street (Triple 7s) and 4 Queens have the cheap beer, but the food can be pricey. The problem with Ellis Island is that their air filtration system is horrible. Triple 7s is the only place that is smoke free out of the 3. 10/28/2009 6:49:13 PM

I am going to Vegas too. But I will be involved in a USTA national tennis tournament and my wife is coming with me. Otherwise, I’d be interested in meeting up for a drink or two.

The other place that hasn’t been mentioned yet is the Yardhouse, which is just south of the strip. However, I’ve heard some mixed reviews of that place.

Guess I should have read that a little closer. It’s true - you won’t find cheap beer and food there.
