o Europe and Down Under people what is it?
(I know this question has been asked a million times in the Beer Talk forum but a lot of the top US sours are not available to the rest of us. In fact I have not had any US sours!)
I wonder if anyone in Europe who has tried any of the US sours would rank it as the best they have ever had.
My vote still goes to Cantillon Blabaer

Lambic or non-Lambic? If non-Lambic then it would have to be RR Depuration, I confirmed this by cracking another bottle after seeing this thread.
If we’re talking Lambic then Girardin Black Label

Sorry I should of been more articulate in my first post.
I am after the opinion of the members who live outside of the US in order to see weather any of the top US sours make it into anyone’s list.
No offence to the US though

Henrikb seemed to like Cuvee de Castleton Batch 1 - awarding a 4.8. I think it was the best American sour of the last 9 years.

I will agree with that for sure! Batch 2 (while good) did not live up to Batch 1.

Best sour for sure is Lost Abbey Isabelle Proximus, so yes ill give US my vote.
Talking lambic, the Cantillon Reed Gueuze Pinot Noir is mind blowing, no doubt about that.
Cantillon Blabaer is a fine piece, but not even near the Pinot Noir.
Btw. a sour is not a lambic, like a brut is not a champagne even though a brut almost is champagne, but in comparison a sour is no near being a lambic..

I did not want to limit it to just lambic

Belgium: Lou Pepe Kriek 2001
US: Yellow Bus, or Castleton batch 1, or perhaps Allagash Sour Pumpkin to pick something a little different/more experimental
