No, not good. No colour, no head. Sweet aroma, artificial sweet, faint artificial fruit. Sweet, fatty flavor. Sparkling.

Whew! I am in the minority here, but this stuff was aweful. I tried it, tried it again, and still did not like it. Way to much going on, spices, carbonation blah blah. The smell, taste, oh yuck.

500 ML Fliptop bottle in Germany. Pour cloudy with one of the best lacying heads I have seen in a Helles. Aroma is well balanced and taste is a fine mix of hopps, malt and sweetness. As a Helles goes this natural unfiltered Helles is one of the best I have ever had. A must for Helles fans!!!1

This beer is not right. Tastes like flat soda with funky weak hop flavoring. Drain pour.

In the bottle at Phil and Bernie’s holiday stout tasting. Pours brown with a slightly off-white head. This is positively crap beer. Very sour with almost no other redeeming features. I am not sure what they were trying to prove by making a beer so inappropriately named. Perhaps if one searched deeply you might find subtle cherry flavors but it is mostly a drain pour.

Bottle from Pflug. Clear orange pour. Wet, citrus hop aroma. Taste is rough. Rubber bands and pine. Unpleasant finish with an aftertaste that lingers like a stank ass fart.

Bottle: Poured a dirty deep brown cloudy ale with a super large bubbly head with average retention. Aroma of sour chocolate malt is quite disgusting. Taste is also a disgusting mix between some unrefined roasted malt with lingering sweetness. Body is quite thin with great carbonation which is probably due to the infection. Too bad this was so infected because I kind of was looking forward to the concept. Another one to add tot he re-rate list I guess.

(bottle, # 0622) Hazy, dark brown colour with a massive and slightly beige foamy head. Extremely sour, sorrel-like nose with yeasty fruity notes in the background. Sour flavour with a moderate carbonation. Sourish, slightly malty and fruity taste; obviously infected, although the label states best before Dec. 2016. Unfortunately I have no sense for Imperial Sour-Bocks. 07.X.09

Bottle from KnutAlbert at Pigs Ear BF 09. Thanks Knut. Black colour, dark brown edges. Now anyone who knows my beer/whisky likes and dislikes will know that Islay whisky is not something that I generally enjoy. And this is no exception. To me it smells of TCP which is not what I want a beer to smell of. Sorry, but not at all in my style.

Bottle at Old Ben Pub, Kovoula. Light brown foam that quickly dissapears to a thin lace. Chocolate aroma with some small amount of burnt malts. The chocolate dominates the taste but after some time the bitterness is also present. The body is small to medium.

| | New Glarus R & D Golden Ale | 1.8 | 3.69 | GG |
|
I think I’ve found the first New Glarus beer that I did not enjoy. It had to have been the brett because to me, it basically smelled like a urinal in the men’s room and Band-Aid’s. Nothing that I’ve ever smelled before that I would think "oh, that’s definitely a brett characteristic". A nice golden orange body, slightly hazy with a 1" off-white fluffy head. Tasted extremely dry, in fact I can’t recall many other beers this dry except for a few RR beers. Puckering tartness, lemony with some medicinial bitterness. It was hard enough to choke down 250 ml of this, let alone a whole bottle (which I didn’t have to do).

Mississippi crud. Pretty terrible, watered down beer. The bottle is awesome though, and it only costs 3 bucks. So take it for what it is.

|
Yeasty nose with traces of marigold. Cloudy ochre, headless. Stinging mouthfeel. Juniper berry flavor and otherwise very nondescript, still with a certain yeastiness. Mild chlorophenols appear upon warming. Not a particularly good barleywine, and I’m not at all impressed. Downrated for flaws.

very dark brown pour (almost like a stout) with a decent off white head. Distinct toffee flavor one the nose is delicious. Slight flavors of coffee and toffee...very different but very good. smooth and light on the mouthfeel. coffee lingers slightly on the palate with some sweetness....very nice.
