theisti (1231), Leawood, Kansas, USA Nov 19, 2008 Shaker pint at the brewpub. Pour is brown ruby, clear with a smallish tan head. Aroma of semi sweet caramel malt. Taste is smooth maltiness, touch of earthy peatiness and a hint of bright hops. Nicely balanced brown, super drinkable. Palate is medium, full but light. Quite impressed, I usually can take or leave Browns, but this was a nice one. heemer77 (3955), Savannah, Missouri, USA Sep 23, 2008 Updated: Oct 1, 2008Easily the best beer I had on tap at the brewpub. This was like a light brown porter and absolutely impressed me. The body was dark brown with copper at the edges. A light tan head lasted for a long time. The aroma was malty with marischino cherries and some molasses. The taste was lightly burned coffee with some dark chocolate. However, this roasted character came together in a very pleasing manner. There was some nice earthy raisin in the finish. Classic for the heavier end of the style as far as I am concerned.
