Commercial Description:
Norwegian: Dette er en karakteristisk IPA frå den amerikanske vestkyststilen. Kjenneteikn ved dette ølet er ein fengjande humlearoma og ein solid bitterheit. IPA går godt med litt robust mat, men kan også nytast åleine.

English: This is an IPA in the style known from the American west coast.

Pours hazy deep amber with a creamy tanned head. Wonderful hoppy aroma of lemon, lime zest, flowers and perfume. Initially light sweetness and bitterness that gives way to a more heavy bitterness that lasts. Light to medium bodied, the texture is dryish and the carbonation is soft. Feels alcoholic at the end. Ægir IPA is a Norwegian classic and has been characterized as their flagship. That position could however be challenged by their Harvest Ale. (9.12.2009 Bottle @ Cardinal, Onsdag^2)

I never used to like IPAs. Then, one day I tried this awesome creation from Ægir, and my beer existence changed, synchronized with the draining of the glass. Thank you so much. I’ve tried so hard. Finally, the IPA that breaks my shell. I dedicate this song to you: "I had no choice but to hear you/ You stated your case time and again/ I thought about it/ You’ve already won me over in spite of me/ Don’t be alarmed if I fall head over feet/ Don’t be surprised if I love you for all that you are/ I couldn’t help it/ It’s all your fault" (Alanis Morisette, "You Already Won Me Over")

500 ml bottle. Hazy amber. Tall beautiful white head. Green hop aroma. Crisp fruity flavours, but clean. Peach and bitter citrus. Smooth refreshing carbonation. Nice, but perhaps a little too clean?

God.

Bottle at Nya Dickens Pub in Bergen. Slightly hazy orange-red color, the foam was quite large and fluffy. Foam remains hanging long on the inside of the glass. The beer smelled nice of pineapple, grapefruit, melon and some soap. The flavor contained the same as the aroma, bitterness was definitely nice and the beer seemed balanced. The body was medium. Long aftertaste.

Had this beer at the Furukroa Tourist Center next door to the brewery. Served with a small, cream colored head and a little lace. Color was a clear, orangey, deep amber. Aroma is earthy hop, roasty malt, and a little caramel. Flavor’s the same with the hops dominating like a good IPA. Just a hint of citrus and grapefruit. Great body and carbonation. Satisfying. Session beer.

Tap in Oslo. Clear orange, thick head, lacey floral, pine hops with a big lemon under belly.

500ml bottle, Olympen, Oslo. What a looker. Dusky orange with a fine snowy collar and thick lace clinging to the glass long after the beer’s gone. Nose in the penny chew bag again with soft gelatinous citrus, added grapefruit and passion fruit, Turkish Delight, Punk IPA floral and citrussy hop, husky malts. Refreshing soapy hop quencher coating the mouth with orange, rose, tropical hop, earthy malt and biscuit. Lacks a bit of punch in the hop department, but has a delicacy of touch that really impresses. Reindeer beater this isn’t.
