| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2009 Bottle. Poured a rich mahogany with a thin off white head. Nose had some candied sugar and Belgian yeast. Nicely carbonated and easy drinking. Has a nice malt yeast backbone but lacks some depth. I had this right After An allagash triple and found the dubbel to be less complex. Definitely improves as it warms and reminds me a bit of RR salvation. alexanderj (2263), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Bottle. Poured a dark auburn-brown with a nice, medium sized off white head. Aroma of cocoa, nuts, caramel, fruit and bread. A nice blend. Flavor was not mind blowing, but it had some complexity and was very drinkable. Palate was a negative, a bit thin and harsh from the carbonation. After taste is also just ok. Great aroma, ok flavor, crappy palate.
