Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 140+ IBU

English: It is hardly a secret that we at Amager Bryghus have a special love towards Imperial Stouts - the finest and most noble of all beer types. Actually, at the brewery we are at all times developing new variants of this noble drink. As always, we tend to add more of everything, which is also the case with this beer: it took no less than eight different malts to three types of hops, and we are especially proud to present the king of them all; Zeus. Amager Imperial Stout is a beer as black as the original sin itself, topped by the most dense and creamy light brown head. Clear notes of coffee and chocolate, but they appear from the malt exclusively, whereas the scent is rich of vanilla. In all regards Amager Imperial Stout is an extreme beer for the demanding and experienced beer lover, who is not afraid of challenging his senses.
Bitterness: 140+ IBU

50 cl bottle, shared by acrdz. Pours a cloudy brown body with a small wispy beige head. The nose is roasty with a little hint of smoke and burnt malt, some yeast, and a light note of alcohol. The flavor is roasty and burnt malt with a bit of an over-roasted acridness that didn’t work too well in the middle, but the finish was slightly smoky with a long lingering bitterness laced with yeast. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a slightly oily texture and soft carbonation. Pretty nice overall, but a little heavy on the burnt malt to be great for me.

Bottled Completely black with a lovely frothy tan coloured head. The aroma has some sour fruit skins. A roasty stout with a rich long finish, with hints of coffee. Very bitter, probably too much so. Some ashy malts.

50cl bottle from mreusch. Thanks Matt! best by Jan 2013. Batch 66. Lightly grainy aroma. Dry. Black. Thin. Lightly acidic. Alcohol a hint noticable. Mashed too long or at too low temp. Not enough unfermentable sugar.

(50cl bottle, Batch Nr 66, BB 1/2013) Pours a dark brown body with a medium-sized tan head. Aroma of citrus, roasted malt, coffee, and cocoa. Flavor of roasted malt, citrusy hops, toffee, and dark chocolate with a bitter finish.

0.33 l bottle. Black color with creamy tan head. Sweetish aroma with flowery and lemony hops. Bittersweet flavor with salty licorice and strong lemony hop flavor. Charcoal, coffee and bitterness in the finish. Good stout but lemony hops are too upfront.
