Quite much pitch black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown coloured head. Some lace. Aroma is rye bread, coffee, roasted malts, some dark dry fruits as well as dry wooden notes. Pours an opaque, oily black with a frothy, creamy beige head. Big nose of wood, vanilla, toast, milk chocolate, smoke, and oak. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla, wood, smoke, burnt toast, coffee, bready and a little spiciness from the rye. Full bodied, slightly bitter finish but very easy to drink. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of licorice, roasted malt, bourbon, dark fruit, rye-bitterness, and the finish is very long with a pleasant, warming alcohol. Aroma contained burtness, liquorice and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and stinging with medium carbonation. Tasted of burntness, bitterness, lightly liquorice, smoke, ash and hint of sweetness. Burnt and ashy aftertaste. Aroma was bit unpleasant but otherwise a really good beer.
