Commercial Description:

Bottle Black beer with a strong light brown head. The aroma is deeply roasted and the flavour is very strongly bitter, hopped and roasted. Overall a very nice rich, strongly bitter and roasted beer.

Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Quite much pitch black colour, mediumsized beigeish brown coloured head. Some lace. Aroma is rye bread, coffee, roasted malts, some dark dry fruits as well as dry wooden notes. Flavour is quite the same, but a bit sweeter than the aroma. Mild ashyness as welll as vanilla, when it gets a bit warmer.

50cl bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours an opaque, oily black with a frothy, creamy beige head. Big nose of wood, vanilla, toast, milk chocolate, smoke, and oak. Flavor is chocolate, vanilla, wood, smoke, burnt toast, coffee, bready and a little spiciness from the rye. Full bodied, slightly bitter finish but very easy to drink. A crowd pleaser.

It’s pitch black with a brown, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of bourbon, roasted malt, vanilla, dark chocolate and rye bread. The mouthfeel is oily. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of licorice, roasted malt, bourbon, dark fruit, rye-bitterness, and the finish is very long with a pleasant, warming alcohol. It’s a truly nice beer.

(Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Poured black with medium sized and brown head. Aroma contained burtness, liquorice and alcohol. Palate was full bodied and stinging with medium carbonation. Tasted of burntness, bitterness, lightly liquorice, smoke, ash and hint of sweetness. Burnt and ashy aftertaste. Aroma was bit unpleasant but otherwise a really good beer.
