Pours very dark amber to brown with ruby highlights. Head discipates quickly but lingers at edge of glass. Aroma is rich with dark fruit and a slight roast. Initial mouthfeel is medium full. Taste is rich with dark fruit and candy. There is significant residual sweetness remaining but a slightly dry/bitter finish. Balance is definitely toward the sweet. I suspect a blend of old and young. Overall a very good beer.

On tap at the Fat Cat, Norwich. didn’t take tasting notes but very black with no head. Smell dark malt, little roastiness. Thin body but great liquorice taste with more dark malt, touch of pepper and some bitter hops. Nice, refreshing as well as extremely tasty.

Dark brown pour, almost clear. The head was light tan. The aroma was malt, spice and light chocolate. The flavor was lots of malt with a bit of chocolate and a hint of alcohol. Body was on the thin side but overall it was a pretty enjoyable beer.

Pours a dark black brown color with a medium to small sized off white head. Mouthfeel is syrupy and the finish is on the long side. Notes of dark chocolate, licorice, spice, and dark brown sugar. Goes down easy.
