Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee. Medium to light bodied ale. The malts are chocolate and coffee. The hops are herbal. Not sure what this beer is supposed to be , is it a stout a coffee flavored brown ale. Its way to thin for a stout and a touch thin for a brown or amber ale. Kind of bland and uninspired, it does hide the 7.5% well. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Rciesla (3700), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is rich and full of coffee. Lots of coffee and some sweet malts. Flavor is bitter at the beginning with a nice roasted coffee flavor. The middle has a mild nutty and caramel flavor with a bitter and roasted coffee ground finish. I really liked it. fiulijn (7240), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 12/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Bottle from Eataly, Bologna Cloudy brown color; gushing bottle; medium head. The coffee aroma is very nice, real, with some malt too. It has a medium-light structure, a dry mouthfeel, the coffee flavor is still good, pretty much like an espresso, but this burnt feeling grows at the end and I don’t like it too much; aftertaste of candy liquorice. Well done, quite extreme in it’s style, but not for me. GAManiac (1174), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 18, 2009 On tap at the Brick Store.
Pours a hazy tea-like brown with a small bubbly tan head that retreats quickly to a small collar with bubbles coming up to the top.
The aroma is an interesting mix of heavily toasted malts, coffee and some light spices. The coffee is certainly not overpowering and there seems to be a bit of oak in the nose as well, though maybe I’m making that up.
The taste starts out with a slightly more sweet caramel malt flavor with a heavy spice kick. The toasted malts are big in the backbone and carry through the finish where it mixes with the slightly bitter coffee presence.
The mouthfeel is light bodied and overcarbonated. Reminds me of drinking a soda actually.
Well, I knew it would be unique when I saw it was Italian as the Brick Store seems to get all kinds of oddball stuff from there. It’s got a decent aroma and flavor but the mouthfeel really does hurt my overall impression of the beer. I may try a bottle version of this one to see if the carbonation is less of a problem.
