Bottle… Murky mahogany ale with a small, white, fizzy head. The meaty, malty aroma is somewhat subdued, but there are hints of caramelized dark fruits, cacao and a very mild, interesting smoke component. Medium to full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. Sweet – lots of residual sugar - lightly tart and mildly fruity. Doesn’t even hint at its high ABV. Moderately sweet, lifeless finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear crimson hue with a tiny, bubbly, ivory colored film. After just a few seconds, a thin rim is all that remains. Micro spots of lacing return to the body below, slowly dripping down the glass. The aroma shows a malt base of caramelized sugars and stale cereal grains, with hints of vanilla, overly toasted cacao beans, and burnt coffee. Flavors are equally unimpressive, again very stale and grainy. The cocoa is bitter and earthy, seemingly taking the place of hops to lend the balance to the sweet caramel and toasted bread malt. Day old coffee lingers on the finish. The palate is substantial and smooth, sporting a light carbonation. It’s not as boozy as one would expect for a 12% brew. Overall, this one is boring and overly grainy. Grossly overpriced too.

( 33cl bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours opaque orange/brown with no head but good lacing. Nose of apple cider and some alcohol. Taste has no hint of 12% alcohol at all. Some roasty/chocolate flavors here but subdued. Overall it’s undercarbonated a bit too.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The look is clear, amber colored, and has an off white head. The smell is nuts, malts, ok, sweet, and not much else. The taste is alcohol, nuts, sweet, and malts.
