Good wash of refreshing fruit, & a hit of bitter hops that lead to a nice bitter resinous finish. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2009 Draught. Looks great in the glass, better than I had expected in fact. Big creamy fluffy head which very slowly sinks. The colour is pale golden, straw - I never really feel the need to say it, but in this case it looks literally yellow! Aroma is lots of citrus, specifically lemon with some honied notes reminding me of a hot toddy without the whisky. Flavour is lovely and easy going. Some definite but restrained hops with more citrus fruit, followed by soft malt and barley in the back ground giving it a relatively decent body for the style, it’s quite mid-bodied, and this seems pretty good going for 4% Palate is soft and lush finish is slightly bitter with a good lemon tang and remaining malt sweetness, all in all a well balanced beer that drinks very easily, and for a blonde it’s not afraid of actually having a bit of flavour, but then that’s what you get with Brewdog, beer with flavour! Fresh, crisp, hoppy aroma of passionfruit, grapefruit and lychee with sweet caramel malt and honey in the background.
Flavours are similar in the way of fruit and a strong sweet malty hit, but the a solid bitterness comes out of left field and blows you away. Powerful stuff.
Light carbonation (could have done with more for a more refreshing finish) and body. anders37 (4636), Malmö, Sweden
