Beerlando (1563), Orlando, Florida, USA Sep 23, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Pours mostly clear and medium-amber in color. A small, foamy, off-white head leaves very little to no lacing behind. Aromas include a pale, caramelly, malty base with faint floral and orange citrus hops. Flavors are equally uninspired and run-of-the-mill, caramel malts and hints of toasted bread lightly hopped with green floral notes and faint hints of citrus. The finish picks up a bit, some bitter, earthy notes coming through. Substantially bodied and low to moderately carbonated. This one just fails to impress. Cambridge has too many better, less alcoholic session brews to bother with this one. Cletus (3614), Connecticut, USA Jul 30, 2008 Draught sample at the brewpub. Pours gold with a nice white head. Smells earthy with some citrussy splashes. Tastes earthy and caramelly with some peppery splashes. Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2008 Golden-amber colour. Really flat. Nice fruity aroma with raspberry, currant, and light orangey notes. Has some fruitiness on the palate as well, but fades to a more woody, caramelly finish with a dull earthiness. jhumphries69 (581), Tyrone, Georgia, USA Jun 18, 2008 On draft at the brewpub. Pours a very red/amber in color with a thin, light tan head. The aroma was mild - some faint hops and some crystal malt. The flavor was too buttery - diacetyl I suspect. There was also some caramel and toffee malt flavor. The hop flavor was citrusy - overall it was weak though. The hop bitterness, too, was too low for style. The beer finished with little dryness, some bready malts, minor levels of residual sweetness, and minor levels of grapefruit hops. The mouthfeel was medium in body and a little low in carbonation. Overall, this was a little disappointing - a very decent and drinkable beer, but far from a desirable American Pale Ale. GriffinAvenue (365), South Boston, Massachusetts, USA Feb 16, 2008 Draft. Clear, static, battery acid copper color. 1/4" light head hanging around. Pleasantly hoppy, tangerine, citrusy hints. Fresh-smelling. Even balance of hops and malts in taste, though watery . . . almost like it was purposed neutered. Green tea-like taste in thei finish.
