Commercial Description:
American Pale Ale is not only the standard but the foundry for what has inspired the craft beer movement. Here at Charleville we wanted to celebrate the beer style that stands as the corner stone for what has made American craft brewing so great. Our Explicit APA is brewed with five additions of hops prior to the wort passing through the Hopback on its way to fermentation. To complete this full bodied ale dry hops are added during cold maturation to create a hop forward ale, with a transcendental copper hue. 14 Plato ƒ row, Carapils and Crystal malts) 30 IBU (Cascade and Centennial hops)

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours a light orange amber color with no head. Notes of toasted biscuits, citrus, and some grass. Basic but not offensive. Thin mouthfeel.

This beer appears light golden with gobs of active carbonation and a one finger soapy head. Cool looking layered lacing. An aroma of mixed fruit, caramel, and some yeast. Hop flavors are varied here but are understated. There is a hint of pepper spice and some soap. Finish is thin and those hops never really assert themselves. Really just an average APA.

22 oz bottle pours hazy orange with cream head. Awesome citrus aroma with a tea undertone. Straight up bitter with a clean finish. Great pale with a lingering finish.

Some fruit in the initial taste. Maybe apricot. Not a tremendous hop bite despite the label’s claim to a great deal of hops....instead a bit of a malty backbone.
