Strykzone (1071), Wood River, Illinois, USA Oct 4, 2008 Enjoyed at The Stable. What a good beer! A clear amber with some red and a small off white head that left some world class lacing. Aroma was spice and pine hop. Flavor was on the sweet side with, again, pine and spice but with a good amount of caramel malt. Balance is tilted toward the sweet. Some floral and grapefruit undertones. Very smooth feel. drfabulous (803), Columbia, Missouri, USA Sep 28, 2008 On tap at The Stable. Very drinkable IPA. Bit of floral aroma and light hops. Ok overall, but did not wow me. I would order again if nothing else was available. vyvvy (1775), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Sep 24, 2008 Bomber - I really want to like the local guy (and usually do), but Charleville’s bombers haven’t done anything for me. Their hop monster at a fest was good, but this did nothing for me. Pours hazy copper / orange with an off-white patchy head. The aroma is buttery caramel malt, papery, mushy and musty. Medium body with a prickly feel, then it gets a bit watery with lots of sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with dry caramel, earthy papery hops, bits of spice and too much cardboard. The finish is harsh, biting and oxidized. This was purchased the day delivered to the store. I’ll keep giving them a try hoping that something clicks for me. Dogbrick (2358), Columbus, Ohio, USA Sep 18, 2008 On draught at The Stable in St. Louis. This beer pours a clear dark amber color with a medium thin and rocky beige head that dissipates steadily. Patchy lacing on the glass. The aroma is citrusy hops, malt and touches of grass. Medium-bodied and moderately hoppy with notes of citrus and pine, along with some malt in the base. The finish is hoppy and short, with a bit of citrus on the back end. Above average overall. Sparky27 (717), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 28, 2008 Bomber courtesy of xmarcnolanx. Pours a clear dark amber with a one finger beige head that didn’t last. Nose is soapy, some malt and a touch of hops. Taste is sweet malt and a mild resiny bitter finish. Lighter mouth feel. This beer went flat before my eyes. Very strange brew. Thanks for the opportunity to be the first rater on this one Marc.
