| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Bottle thanks to dmac. Pours a dark brown nice off white head. Has the smell of dark fruit, wood, rye, booze and hops. Taste is all over place like the smell with rye, hops and coffee as the dominate flavors. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bottle at Cock & Bull Pub. Poured a hazy brown color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, nuts and earthy aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy earthy sweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is another standout brew.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Thanks to dchmela for this beastly beer. Pours dark brown with a good long lasting khaki head that just keeps on giving. Aroma is very "ASA" but with a slight twist. The grapefruit, pine, toast, and caramel that I expect are there, but there’s some creamy sweet grain, vanilla, and peppery spice to make things a little more exotic. Tastes very earthy and dry with flavors of dirt, wood, toast, pine, grapefruit (not IPA fresh, but an earthier interpretation), cream, caramel, vanilla, and charred grill smokiness. This is not a sweet beer despite any descriptors that might indicate that. Finishes earthy once more, with a strong roast coffee flavor, dark Russian Rye toast, and earthy hops. Aftertaste sticks around a while. The whole beer lives up to the brewery’s namesake that’s for damn sure! Full bodied, creamy, high carbonation for the strength of the beer, and thus a bit fluffy feeling. Nonetheless its good and satisfying beer. cbkschubert (1968), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

A good beer. Thanks Jason.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 20, 2009 750 ml bottle, well I think it was a 750 anyway, from Capones. Poured a deep muddy brown with a very nice full creamy beige head. Aroma had so much going on that it was actually distracting and not blending. Notes of citrus hops, rye bread, chocolate syrup, pineapple, brown bread, sweetner and other aromas popping up here and there. Once again the flavor is similar to the aroma with tons going on.....cat piss hops(yuck), orange juice soaked burnt toast, chocolate flavored sugar and uncooked rye bread. Full creamy body with strong carbonation and a full bitter finish. Still can’t decide if this one was a good beer or just an overcomplicated attempt. AmEricanbrew (1808), Doing Rogue, Louisiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Mahogany color with a full tan head. First whiff is bandaids with dark multi grain spicy bread. Medium body. Flavor has some obvious bugs; sour with spicy sweet dark grains and brown sugar. Pretty good taste once you get past the bugs. Thanks Juice for this bottle. pineypower (1093), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Much thanks to those at Dmac’s yesterday. Pours out a dark brown with a small white head. Intriguing aroma of rye malts, citrus hops and a slight roasty note. Very interesting taste, a lot going on and maybe too much. Notes of citrus hops, some rye malt, light chocolate and a little roast hiding in there also. Definitely an interesting idea.
