This is no exception. Probably the first IPA I’ve had from the Netherlands. Pours clear golden with a huge, foamy white head and great lacing. Aroma is very floral and fairly hoppy, with some tropical fruit notes in there as well as sweet malt. Flavor is sweet pale malt balanced by nice but not too intense floral and fruity hops. Lots of light fruits. I picked out pineapple and lychee in there. Some yeast presence as well. Palate is medium-light and crisp, with just a little hop bitterness lasting. Very good IPA overall, a little different from the typical American versions in a good way. omhper (12247), Stockholm, Sweden

Lightly hazy deep golden, enormous rocky head. Rich gooseberry and lychee aroma. Sweet and fruity with dense runded mouthfeel and above medium body. Very hop driven and aromatic with loads of tropical fruits. Underneath lies subtle fruity notes of marzipan. Finishing with marked bitterness. Alex420 (48), Rome, Italy

Slighly gushing bottle, slighly!
Big clean white head. Pale orange color.
Cheesy sulfuric head; co2 is definitly there.
You can surely taste the yeast, but also a load of hops, some malt tones lingering in the back... Well balanced
A decent body and after finish
Another great session beer

Was lucky enough to stumble in and catch this on over the summer. The cask had crossed the north sea courtesty of de wildeman crew in amsterdam to celebrate their ’twinning’; and stonkingly good it was too. Hazy bronze colour with a nice white head. Explosive hop packed aroma that led to a tropical fruit laced flavour that oozed resinous hop. Perfect bitterness. Lip smackingly tasty stuff. A fantastic beer, and I haven’t enjoyed a few pints of anything more than this so far in 2009.... Nekronos (2265), Xalapa, Mexico

And with a good friend by the way. Nice hoppy taste and very alcoholic taste but not tiring. MesandSim (5940), London, Greater London, England

Big and fruity on the nose with a really good malt and hop balance. The flavour is superb. Again, really fruity hops jump out at you and give some excellent bitterness too. Hints of orange and spice add interest all the way through. Superb balance. Great length to the hoppy finish. Bloody great. Fin (3448), Merton, Oxfordshire, England

This erupted out of the bottle before pouring a hazy light amber. There is a massive hoppy nose, the tongue really gets a workout, great fruitiness in fact this is just a very decent beer. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy orange with an unstoppable head. Strong orange zest and spices aroma. Flavours are very bitter, full of tropical fruits and orange. Feels stronger than its 6.2% ABV. Could well become a classic.
