Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of jbrus. Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a creamy beige head. Roasted malty arome with a pleasant whiff of oxidization. Solid body with a massive malty base, a little caramel also. Mouthfeel is a little tired but the finish warms with massive alcohols. 041109

Bottle. High fluffy but long lasting off-white head. Hazy thick looking orange red body. Mild and fruity caramel raisin aroma. Powerful barley malt flavor with a good deal of carbonation, nice hops bitterness, caramel cocoa flavor with a long aftertaste. Alcohol level well hidden by the bitterness.

Bottle. Chocolate brown with a beige head. Aromas are nutty with roast malts and raisins. Light chocolate with bready yeast. Some vinous notes. Flavours are chocolate and berries with some dark chocolate bitterness. Spritzy yeast with a dry finish. Good.

Bottle. Darkish brown beer with a strong head. The aroma is richly malty, and the flavour is rich, roasted and malty. Overall a nice rich and roasted beer.

330ml bottle (Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam)
Deep red, large brief head. Slightly sour fruity aroma, tart berries. Cakey palate - malts and spices up the nose. Sharp taste. Rich malty body, some dates, but some soap too. Finish sharp and with biting hops. A little bit disappointing, didn’t have the fullness of body I was hoping for in a doppelbock, and the sourness akin to tart berries was too prominant.

Bottle. Is this really a Dopplebock? Cloudy and slightly spicy.Quite lively coming out of the bottle but didn’t actually explode. Some maltiness and quite well balanced but nothing very inspiring. Pleasant but I expected better.
