Mild and fruity caramel raisin aroma. Powerful barley malt flavor with a good deal of carbonation, nice hops bitterness, caramel cocoa flavor with a long aftertaste. Alcohol level well hidden by the bitterness. leaparsons (4749), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Deep red, large brief head. Slightly sour fruity aroma, tart berries.
Cakey palate - malts and spices up the nose. Sharp taste. Rich malty
body, some dates, but some soap too. Finish sharp and with biting
hops. A little bit disappointing, didn’t have the fullness of body I
was hoping for in a doppelbock, and the sourness akin to tart berries
was too prominant. johndoughty (2159), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

Cloudy and slightly spicy.Quite lively coming out of the bottle but didn’t actually explode. Some maltiness and quite well balanced but nothing very inspiring. Pleasant but I expected better.
