Aroma is sweet with a lot of citrus, resin, and flowery hop notes. Slightly tangy and flowery at the beginning with a mild citrus and grassy hop middle. Dry and bitter at the finish with a very mild, lingering aftertaste. Incredibly well balanced. poisoneddwarf (216), Rathdrum, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 20, 2009 12 oz bottle. Aroma is grapefruit citrus, pine, grain. Pours golden amber with a decent head, decent lacing. Taste is just slightly bitter for this style, not sweet. Could be bigger-bodied. Finishes a little salty. Not bad at all--but not exactly fantastic either. Chickencoop (35), California, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 14, 2009 I love Sierra, had it specifically at my wedding only with the mighty Pilsner Urquell, but this beer, 10 years later is my new pale ale. The malt balance with the subtle hops works for me, is it my age, maybe, but I love this beer, it’s better than the always picked up flagship Porter, this is one of the better beers they make. nate2g (1132), Brisbane, Australia

A pleasant aroma of biscuit malt, tropical fruits and hops. Tastes great, and the Cascade hops sure do their thing - this is one very sessionable ale. Good hop bitterness with a fruity finish. Awesome APA. philbertk (89), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2009 On tap at Blue Palms I believe, a few weeks back. Color was a dark amber with an off whitish head. Aroma of NW hops; fruity and earthy, with a small dash of spice. Flavor was pretty dry; earthy and a bit fruitier. Reminds me of my trip up there. llcooldave (337), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Pine & soap aroma almost like Irish Spring with some floral notes added. Hazy orange amber color. Flavor consists of nuts with a piney hops aftertaste. Overall this is a pretty good brew... Nice balance of malt and hops, very enjoyable to drink. luttonm (307), Belgrade, Serbia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2009 All time classic, and very likely the beer that launched me deep into beer love. Deep amber, tight head, fresh hoppyness and some balancing, rich malts. All about crisp pine flavor and good weight. Absolutely tastes like the northwest, a formative beer.
