| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 21, 2009 On tap at the cask tapping of this brew. Pours opaque orange to brown with frumpy, clumpy tan head and cling lacing. The aroma is inviting with rich piles of citrus, a bit of pine hops and sweet malts. The taste is fresh citrus hops of grapefruit mixing with tangelo and orange peel and sweetened out by a small river of malts. The hop bitterness grows to midway and into the finish as the malts come toward the front and create a fresh sweet orange juice experience bounded by some pine hop bitterness. The finish and after taste maintain a pulse of grapefruit and tangelo hop bitterness and a reminder of the sweet malts. One of the better Amber ales I have had.
