On tap in a pint glass. A pretty tame but malty aroma, and the flavor is malty sweet with a chocolate punch, some nuttiness, and a slighty smokey finish, but not much.

Pours a dark amber colour with a soft creamy beige top. Aroma is very pleasent. Noticeable peat, some smoke and caramel notes are forward on the nose. Taste is light, suprised me actually. Thought it might be a wee bit heavier. Ah! get it- "wee bit"? Maybe im thinking of a scotch though. Taste has some pleasent sweetness, some syrupy notes but overall fairly light.

Pours a murky amber with decent one finger tan foam head. Nose is sweet, and similar to that of apple juice. Flavor is surprisingly pleasant, though not exactly what I was expecting, but with a sweet mildly smoked, buttery caramel. A little reminiscence of dogfood in a good way. I like this one fairly well.

10/25/2009: Erie Rail Bender... Aroma: Smells like a typical, non-descript beer. Appearance: Deep gold/orange color, cloudy; fluffy ivory-colored head. Flavor: Mild herbal and earthy hoppiness; sweet caramelized maltiness. Palate: Medium to medium-full body. Overall: Not bad; filling for such an underwhelming and weakly flavored beer.

12 fl. oz. bottle ( 6.8 Alc./Vol.) shared by Tmoney99. Thanks Tom! Rating #262 for this beer.

Bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy amber color with a small white head. The aroma, which wasn’t very strong, included moderately sweet caramel, some fruits but not much else. The flavor had me wandering what style this was. It was drinkable, but lacked that something that said this is a (insert style). Lightly sweet upfront before showing more bitterness in the back. Caramel, earthy, some biscuity character, with a touch of fruits. Tom thought this won a gold medal somewhere???

Bottle served in a pint. I think i got one of the gold medal batches as I don’t know why this is rated here so low. Dark orange-brown in color. Large off-white head with very little lacing. Malty scottish ale aroma. Light-medium body and some carbonation. A little thin perhaps. Smooth, malty finish. This is a sessionable ale I would quaff on a cold, rainy day.

12 oz bottle from Spirits RB. Poured a deep reddish brown with a small to average size white frothy head. Aroma of earth, citrus, chocolate and white grapes. Full bodied with average carbonation that fizzes up when sipped and really gives this one an extra full mouthfeel. Flavor of toffee, chocolate, bread and citrus with a touch of white grape juice. Not bad but nothing special.

Medium amber color with a very thin head. The flavor was a malty caramel taste with some hops in the end. Overall, a very good beer.
